I’m pretty new to the envato marketplace and I want to make a decision and not sure if its crucial or unimportant.
So, here’s a question for you veterans
:
Do you think having a personal DP of yours, results in less sales? or is it better or it doesn’t really matter?
I ask this question since I find most of you using a cool graphic or avatar and I might do the same
and on a more serious note – a few handy tips and tricks on getting most out of your theme would be cool

DP?
he means display picture…
I don’t think that having a personal picture of yours as your display picture will result in less or more sales. As a matter of fact I barely pay attention to it.
Of course there are DPs ehich stand out better than others, but that’s pointless since I usually pay attention to the author’s work, not his DP.

rofl! nice one
Well this is not a dating site
So it doesn’t matter. Just make good theme’s
As someone who buys the templates here rather than designing them, I can tell you from personal experience that I do not look at the DP’s, although I do from time to time glance at them. Having a unique DP does help you stand out a little, but not a whole lot. I think the work and effort put into your design template is most important.
And Details… if the author hasn’t provided details in depth on their template info page, I will typically move on. I think someone who takes time to explain themselves and their template, shows they’ve a passion and knowledge of what they are doing. Not just a hidden “help” document that you get with instructions to setup your newly purchased template.
Always nice to know ahead of time.
Good luck!
If I see someone with a really nice or interesting avatar I will go to their profile and quickly look at their stuff… so for me yes, it does make a difference

Yep, Looking at the fierce yet friendly competition we guys are having here I think every single attraction from the customer matters
But, as others have said – if your theme is good, it will do well on its own
