I am wondering something about .psd files within an after effects project. Is there anyway to move each layer independently? For example I am working with a .psd that is a star with 3 separate layers making up the star. Each part of the star is a different letter when it is separated and laid out. So basically the top becomes an ‘M’ the right side becomes a “C” and the bottom becomes a “C” when broken apart and laid next to each other. So would I be able to do this with the 1 .psd file or would I have to chop them up in photoshop and import them separately? Forgive my n00bness :)

When you import your .psd
Make sure to change your “Import kind” from “footage” to “composition” That’s about it.
