one thing that prevents me from buying any of the PSD templates is that I don’t have Photoshop and any way to easily slice them up for use.

Can they be sliced using any other tool or are PSDs sliced up ready for use available?

Slice em up and i will have more of a reason to buy them, otherwise it is just a nice picture to me and very hard to duplicate. Not everyone has the fabulous tool called Photoshop.

PSDs usually get coded, so I think it’s best you wait for the coded version.

When I don’t code it myself, I personally never pre-slice them, because it’s up to the coder to decide how the slices are positioned. It gives him more flexibility :)

I also never pre-slice PSD templates, because it is bad technique. As digitalimpact said everyone will slice and code as they wishes, there is no point to limit coder.

If you see a PSD template that you like, but would prefer a coded version, be sure to post a comment for the author letting them know you would be interested in buying a coded version. I have read that a lot of authors here are putting up the PSD first before coding it to see if there is a demand for the coded version.
