Hi everyone!

First of all: Happy birthday Envato!

I have a question that maybe sounds “stupid”. Let’s say that I have a PSD Template on sell here on Theme Forest, and I would like to convert it to HTML / CSS . Is it wrong, as I’m not a coder, if I ask someone from the ThemeForest Comunnity to convert it for me, and then I resell it here on Theme Forest? I mean is it ethically wrong or is it a normal practice?

I’m new around here, so maybe it is a dumb question… :)

Don’t hold me to this, but I’m pretty sure it’s okay to get someone to code a theme for you, and then upload it to ThemeForest. As long as the coder doesn’t use it, I think.

I have a feeling either Jeffrey or Epicera is gonna come in and give you a totally different answer as they usually do. :D

you can have whoever you want code an item for you – or indeed program a JS snippet or piece of php code – as long as you own the entire rights for that item and then you can sell it. What we really need is cooperative authoring so say I could design something, another author codes it and then another has a flash gallery they made that want to come in and each sale is split 3 ways on commission – now that would be awesome as I don’t do WP but would gladly join in with someone who does who can convert my html themes.

But yeah – as long as it’s 100% yours you should be good to go as the first speciality page – the down for maintenance one – was a joint effort as clearly stated by the selling author.

and @Phoenix_Zero – too funny man – too funny.

So, the file I would like to convert is:

http://themeforest.net/item/utopia-psd-template/54076

It would be XHTML / CSS with some jQuery. If anyone interested, please post or contact me via my profile.

Thanks.

You might want to post what you’re expecting to pay. It will probably help you get more responses and you’ll be able to pick who you want if there are enough.

If you’re offering enough, I’d be happy to do it. You can contact me via my den page if you want to talk about it. :-)
