PSD to WP

Looking for a programmer to help me build themes for sale here on theme forest. I can create every aspect of the design and asthetic, but the extent of my programming only goes to core css and wordpress theme editing, or reworking… I want to do some more retro/vintage themes…

Your portfolio work is great but I was only able to find print designs. As you probably know web design comes with its own challenges.

May I suggest you showcase something that shows you know how to design for the web?

You have a great portfolio at GraphicRiver. But this template no! It will be never accepted on ThemeForest. It’s quite hard for me to believe that you designed this dumb.

I found that many great graphic designers are having a hard time doing layout work, like websites etc. Same goes the other way around. Seems like graphic design and webdesign requires completely different set of skills and experience.

I want to help so here is some constructive criticism. The others are right, this design would simply not get accepted at themeforrest.

1. There is just about nothing there that could get styled with css. It would require so many images it is painful to think about. Personally the fewer images the better, this may seem odd because…

2. The design does not focus on the content, it should. Beautiful web design focuses on the content. In your empire design and in other print designer’s initial webdesigns I’ve seen the focus is instead on eye candy. Backgrounds and borders ca be done well but they are not what a web design should consist of.

3. Another painful issue is that text has been put on low contrast backgrounds. This is a big no-no, any text must be clearly readable on low-end monitors. Everything may look fine on a IPS Dell or Apple monitor but your visitors do not have those montors. They have a 17 inch that came with their HP in 2006.

My suggestion would be to learn some basic css while learning web design. Learning css should give you a better idea of what is easily possible.

If thats all you have to say…keep it to your self…Please…no one needs that kinda feedback…
