Always bit.ly your urls (or other shorteners) for QR codes so the QR data looks less compact.
Two reasons: Visually it looks more pleasant, and secondly the camera taking the QR code as input will have less chance of failing reading the data.

That’s a good tip! I’ve also noticed that QR codes are pretty incosistent for complex URLs … “keep it simple stupid ”

Another tip for QR codes. Always make dark code on light background, never vice versa. If you make black background and white code then code will not work!
I think not everyone knows that as I saw couple business cards with this mistake here on GraphicRiver.
