I have spent a LOT of money with your company and I am on the verge of leaving and never returning. nearly EVERY purchase I’ve made in the last 4 to 5 months from TF and CC has issues rendering the theme, plugin, script unusable. Where is the QUALITY CONTROL ?????
Why is something for sale that just doesn’t work? Who checks and tests this stuff? If you leave it up to the developer, I have news for you… They are killing your company. Whoever is in charge of QA, testing, reviews, etc.. isn’t doing their job. Replace them!
This is absolutely disappointing. When I buy a theme, I want to use it right now… as it’s described and as the demo shows. I don’t want to use it in a week, 2 weeks, or whenever the developer decides to fix it.
You guys used to be on top of this stuff. What happened? Whatever it is, keep this in mind… I have purchased over 200 items from you guys, ranging from $2 up to $90 each. Most of which fall in the $20 to $30 range.
I am highly unsatisfied with your company over the last few months. Something has changed, either your employees have started slacking, perhaps the upper management is getting greedy and decided to just let anything and everything onto the system, or you have lost some QA people and can’t handle the load. Whatever the case is, it is affecting your business in very severe ways.
I am tired of waiting on the developers on your system to deliver what they promise. You are essentially stealing my money. I can’t use it if it doesn’t work and I don’t have the time to keep tracking down these items that should be working before they get added to the system.
Again, very disappointed and want this message to resonate to the top of your company.

Hi Pixelous, I’m not saying that ALL of the developers have issues, just the ones I’ve happened to purchase in the last few months. It could be that there are a lot more developers lately, however, the most recent one that I’ve purchased is also an “Elite Author” which is even more disturbing. How does someone get that status if they put up themes that don’t work?

Hi agrc, thanks for the sentiment. I am also a developer, but I tend to purchase themes so I don’t have to develop as much. If I buy a theme or a script, it should work as indicated in the demo and as described in the description. Namely, in this most recent issue… The “brown” theme should be “brown”, not “blue”. See the frustration? It’s simply laziness and lack of QA that is causing most of the issues I find.
I can fix it myself, but then why did I pay the developer & Envato?
I want Envato to give me some sort of an explanation as to why this keeps happening and how they plan on resolving it going forward.

Can see the frustrations, it’s a tricky one to balance for sure. The World of digital has opened a huge can of worms when it comes to saleable goods and how to guage the support of that.
In an ideal World there would be perfect quality control and I feel your pain especially when you’re spending hard earned beans to feed someone else but maybe sometimes we just gotta take it on the chin. Had it been a builders contract you would have serious grounds to contest.
I’m guessing here with the huge amount of files hosted it can be difficult to get every single option, setting, page template, type etc tested and signed off to a standard of 100% accurate.
Even if it’s 99% fine (the product / theme) and an issue is reported, streamlining that when the Author isn’t available / capable / aware of a solution.
Sure the only sites that have live support online to a relative standard are Amazon, eBay etc. Even web hosts like Media Temple have slower and slower response times.
Maybe that’s our job, to help come up with new and cool ways to help others in similar situations.
Who knows, lol. Hope you get your happy place again.
Interesting and honest post. I’m also a very regular buyer here and I find the theme quality is generally excellent. However, there are a few stinkers out there.
It’ll be really interesting to see the feedback from up top here.

Edit: My biggest issue here is actually the number of really dull/repetitive themes that are getting released on here. I’d rather see less and of a much higher quality. Hopefully this would iron out your issue too.

If you are an elite author i think its more likely you know what you’re doing. Im shocked that an elite author would have an item that doesn’t work correctly.
