Hey,

I need to ask if the exclusivity terms were recently changed on Envato.

I’m asking this because I see cool new EE and Drupal themes from a big player, player that’s exclusive here but also sells those themes on their website.

Are we now allowed to make 50%-70% while selling the items in other sites too? Just curious, nothing personal.

Are you sure they aren’t just linking back to their ThemeForest item?

Check for yourself, it’s a 2CheckOut-processed form :)

+1 – Good question…

Although… if they want to partner with WooThemes… Envato just needs to hide their little “checkmark” badge and the rest of us minions would never know… ;)

I see what you mean.

I rarely mosey on over to the Drupal and EE stuff and now I’m a little shocked to see Woo there in the first place. Does this mean WP is next for them?? Yikes.

I don’t care if WP is next for them.

They’re very good at what they do and I personally have HUGE respect for them.

But this is… embarrassing…

What would happen if a regular TF author would do this? I bet you his account would get blocked, credits frozen and all that “until the situation is dealt with”.

What will happen in this case? Nothing, because they’re a huge name in the industry…

Times like these make me think twice about all the “ethics” around here…

It takes 30 days to opt-out of exclusivity (My account > My settings > Exclusivity), but that’s a good question anyway.

Yep.

Knowing that, in these 30 days, they could simply redirect from their site to TF, right? Well, that’s not the case.

I don’t want to be misunderstood, I’m not a hater or anything like that, but it always bugged me how “the big guys” can “get away with it”.... (please read with quotes included)

I’m sure support will comment but I’m fairly sure this is just some kind of deal iwith Woo Themes to get a bunch of Expression Engine themes on Themeforest to kickstart a new category.

That happend with Magneto themes.
