Sorry to make a new thread for this – I’m curious about the two different star ratings that I have. On my profile page I’ve been given 5 stars but my theme has 4. Do buyers have the option to rate you as well as your items? As far as I was aware you could only rate items. If my profile shows 5 stars it’d be nice if my theme did the same
Cheers guys.

It’s probably just high ratings from your graphic river file, one rating could make the difference between a 4-star and 5-star average (which is what’s displayed on your profile page). And no, there’s no facility to rate a person on the marketplaces
Ah okay, so the rating on our profiles is the overall average of our items? That makes sense.
Cheers, mate.

ratting = headache => get over it
Envato should definitely implement what kailoon said a while ago… have a favouriting system and list how many favourites the items has e.g.
“40 sales, 20 favourites”
This would give off a positive effect to the sales without giving ‘clients from hell’ to ruin the reputation of the item by rating it lowly.
no more confusion for ratings

I agree that is a very good idea. Can we start a pool? What the community wants?
I second that!
I don’t sweat the ratings.
Paul your file has sold 85 times and only 4 people have rated. I guarantee one of those buyers rated it 2 or 3 stars which brings your overall rating down. It sucks.
I’ve tried promoting rating files but it didn’t work very well – I stuck a link into the documentation but as I discovered, not alll buyers read it til the end lol

Yep. One of my buyers emailed me to say he wanted to give my theme 5 stars but for some reason it registered as 2 – and then TF support apparently wouldn’t let him change it?
