I know that it is hard to get into the PSD category. The designs must be unique and different. I submitted one a few days ago and got rejected. Now I have some questions regarding the review of PSD ’s.
Is there one or more persons who are reviewing PSD ’s ? What exactly are you looking at the PSD – the quality, uniqueness ?
The reviewer wrote me some feedback… “Those images are nice, but the template itself is just plain and generic. It doesn’t offer much as a premium template, especially for PSD Templates category.”
When creating the template I thought that a difference is welcomed. I haven’t seen many items with sidebar approach in the PSD category. I don’t want to rant or be rude, but let’s take the 10 latest accepted items on the PSD category, which one is unique ? They are created as most of the WordPress themes. A navigation on top, then comes the slider, after that a callout, then some columns and a footer. So this is acceptable ?
I really don’t know where I went wrong. You can judge yourself and hopefully someone can give me some tips on how to improve the template. I would especially like some feedback for my questions from the reviewers! Cause right now there seems to be that different reviewers accept different quality files.
Now some pictures and I appreciate any feedback you have! (The are clickable!)
Be as harsh as you want to be, I may be wrong…
Perhaps someone has some ideas…
Still looking forward seeing your replies.
I think that the idea of having the nav vertical is cool but besides that your design is way to minimal.
For me there is nothing in the design which would make it worth for me buying it. And that is partly because any element including your buttons can be redone in photoshop within seconds.
if you open up the psd which you uploaded to ThemeForest and open it up you’ll see how minimal it is without the photos. Too plain.
For the PSD category.
there are some already html theme that have same layout and better graphic design than your theme. And the psd template must have better graphic than the html/wordpress files.
To be honest, your PSD isn’t far from being accepted, really not far, just some more polishing and done BUT there are already some templates (both PSD and WP) that are similar to yours. I can even recall one template which is exactly, like 99% like yours. The only difference is the fonts and preview images, in rest it is the same.
Think of another idea for the “same type” of templates.
Thank you for your feedback, really appreciate it!
I just can’t wrap my head around the uniqueness thing – most of the themes are, as I told above, navigation, slider, columns, footer and those get accepted.
Better go back to Photoshop and try something new.
All the best to everyone,
