Hi everyone,

I’ve read an interesting article in Web Designer Depot, discussing about the fact that there are many premium themes flooding the market.

By looking at the comments, I’ve seen very very good ones about Themeforest. Obviously, because we’re the best :)

An interesting comment (which brought to my attention to create this thread), contained the following:

... ThemeForest (long time ago its the best but now the reviewers are approving all sorts of low quality crap themes!) ...

Should the Review Standards be raised to enforce quality over quantity ? What do you guys think ?

Hmmm i don’t know why should you worry about it if you are a good designer? You shouldn’t pay too much attention to such opinions and try to “correct” the world because you simply can’t :)

Instead, the thing you can do is to try to be the best in your job – you should focus more on improving yourself, rather than improving whole world around you :) And when you become (if you already aren’t) really good in your job you will suddenly find out that you don’t have to worry about finding more clients or doing more sales.

BTW i do agree that there are some bad themes here, for example this one [removed] but i shouldn’t be too much worried about that, because of the stuff i said above.

I think you misunderstood the OP point – we as a collective are being judged – not individually – ThemeForest is seen as an entity not a collection of independent authors and as such if we allow sub-par items for sale we are ALL seen as offering sub-par items.

Please refrain from calling out individual authors and their items on the public forums as per the forum rules, thanks!

The quality standards here are the most highest I’ve ever seen.

As of right now the standards are pretty high. The reviewers will probably raise it again once the authors as well raise the bar.

Every week the themes only get better, and after a while some people get left behind which they’ll eventually be left out at all.

So right now, should they raise the standards? I don’t think so.

The problem is not high standard but balanced application of it, for instance some reviewers has very high standard and some not.
