Hi everyone,

We did, indeed, remove Nicereply integration from the review message emails. Although we ideally want to provide that ability to authors (giving us feedback on reviews), we couldn’t justify the admin overhead of its maintenance and getting maximum value out of it when there’s so much else we’re trying to focus on improving.

Having said that, if you guys have more thoughts on it or a similar system, please do let me know. Thanks!

I won’t be nice like the others and i will say that i did have an instance of where i could give back a bad feedback if i could, but at the same time i would not be able to because one reviewer soft rejected my item for one reason and then when i fixed the particular reason i have resubmitted the item and it got rejected for the other reason. So no hard feelings really here but! In this case who gets a bad feedback the first one for rejecting it for one reason or the second one for rejecting it for completely whole different reason? What would be nice is to give the 2 reasons at once so i could fix them both before resubmitting the track!

Well, to tell the thruth, I asked myself already if the nicereply feature really makes sense or just additional work :)
I can understand when this is the first feature that falls over the edge when there’s a lot of other stuff to do.
Maybe that will at least shorten our queue for a day or two :P
But still I would appreciate it or something similar.

IMHO rating of reviewers was unnecessary, but possibility to reply a small note was very useful. I felt that real human is on the other side and it was shortest way to clear any doubts. Now it looks little ‘robotic’.

I liked that function:) it was a way to give a human touch; when reviewer was adding a personal note to the email you were able to say thanks:)
