Hi everyone!
Just wondering, do buyers get a notice every time a file has been upgraded? If not, wouldn’t it be great if they could get a message alert every time there is an upgrade of the files and where the author of the file could have control on weather or not to send that alert (if considered major upgrade). Also, I think it would be great when buyers rate a file under 3 stars to make it compulsory to leave a comment, that way the author can assist that person in the best possible way. So this can be constructive criticism otherwise is impossible to know what’s wrong. I’ve noticed sometimes on other products, people expect things from a product that is clearly impossible / not what the file is meant to do even if the description of the file is really clear.
Would love to know what your thoughts are on this

It has been discussed quite a few times, I’d see a very simple option like in the forums “Subscribe to this thread”. Each user could choose to receive notifications or not (seperately for each item they bought). And that would still preserve their privacy.

It’s not that difficult feature to implement, and if there are a lot of threads suggesting it, is another reason to pull this to the top of the envato’s to do list I think
Thanks Pixelworkshop, your suggestion would be a great starting point. Joostc, thanks for the links, but clearly this hasn’t been discussed enough then?! otherwise we would have seen some changes by now? what’s the purpose of the forum if no changes are made? I think this is an important issue that needs to be resolved, keeping the customer happy should be of high priority. A simple way to resolve the issue of the low rating as I mentioned above would be to have a simple comment box and privacy could be kept just by ticking an option.

I’ve made by myself the small program for checking updates, so I think this feature is pretty easy can be made by Envato developers.
