have to say, he’s more pissed off than me (since item still have 5 star)

point is, he didn’t said anything to me but contacted support asking to fix this, than forwarded answer to my inbox.

well, you already know it, right ? nothing can be done

pretty annoying.

Its a good thing little children don’t fall into the ratings system, cos they would never come out! It’s a dark and mysterious place where only the future exists!

Maybe a pop-up box should come up when someone clicks one star. It could say, “Please confirm you would like to rate this file as bad”. Because I think this has happened to all of us at some point.

i won’t for sure.
still, if you provide a rating system, you should be able to address this kind of issues.

Well the rating system has always been abit unfair.. for example anyone can rate a collection, you’ll notice some collections with the best files on AD are rated 3 or 4 stars but the files are all 5 stars.. probably rated 1 star by other authors who’s files aren’t in there… just guessing.

Also lack of support = low rating and has nothing to do with the file.. so ratings are not really a true reflection of the quality of the file. And I’m sure people either rate 5 or 1.. 5 = it’s works perfectly no problems.. 1= totally useless I want my money back ;) I doubt anyone is going “hey you know what.. I think this is about a 3 star, let me click that middle star there”

Some buyers might just rate a really good file 1 star because they realised after purchase it’s not what they wanted, or they didn’t read the description page that it’s AS2 and they wanted AS3 .. so at the end of the day ratings aren’t always going to be fair, so I wouldn’t really worry about them, I don’t think they have a major impact on how a file sells.

A basic javascript confirm script can repair this.
<script type="text/javascript">
<!--
var answer = confirm ("Vote the file with "+ rating + " stars?")
if (answer)
//submit query
else
//do nothing
// -->
</script>

Why can’t they just fix the rating? Is it technically difficult? Or is it a policy thing?

Overtime all bad rating get corrected.. cos if the file is good it should always have more good ratings than bad.. just a problem if you get too many bad ratings in the beginning of sales by chance. It’s all about luck.
