@ fillerspace, nopes mate…we authors, when we upload a new item we dont get charged only single time %30…So this is why i see the refferal program schould work the same way they charge authors…for every single sale of our items we get charged %60. It would be fair if the refferal program worked that way, basically no charges for deposites but some specific % for each sale is made trough our Ref IDs…thats how it must work (and the common Affilate Programs work on the whole planet)...then we can talk about reffereing more new buyers.

I guess I’d love to see a system where the authors could refer people and get a percentage of EACH sale transaction that takes place by the referred member. I understand the 100%+ situation, but correct me if I’m wrong restructuring the affiliate program could eliminate this issue?

Maybe a good compromise would be a 90 day period where you get a % of everything they deposit. That would give them enough time to make a small deposit, buy a theme, and then deposit more.

A referral on every sale doesn’t make sense for Envato, since the effect of the referral wears off pretty quickly. I may have joined on the recommendation of a current member, but over time what keeps me here is the quality of the themes, and the sense of community.

It looks like greed. ;)

In other words, you ask envato to double referral payments ?

Then in turn I ask to double rate for exclusive authors, and it will be 80% !!! :)

I think it’s unprofitable business, lets call it from now “Envato Charity Network” or ECN )))

Dude – 259 files in AudioJungle? Wow!!!

I have to agree that the current referral program sucks – really it’s terrible and will do nothing to really grow the marketplaces – honestly I think it would be money well spent for Envato to hire an affiliate manager to steer them in the right direction.

As previously mentioned, universally affiliate % earnings come from sales – doesn’t have to be much either – 5-10% for life from a referred buyer – it can be worked in to the costing / sale price easily.

At the moment if you have a blog etc – you put up a banner – now if you have a stable audience and some of them click and deposit – you’re done – if you get no new people to your blog then the same people will not click the banner – best to be able to allow serious affiliates to post new themes on their blogs, articles place product and links in articles etc – direct with buy now button and get 10% of the sale – you will see a HUGE increase in exposure for all marketplaces.

For example a bigger referral percent – like 50% – can allow digitalscience to add money to a dummy account that is referred by him, get 50% money back from referral and then get another 70% back if he buys his own files = 20% scam money. WIN :D

I must be missing something. This would mean you could buy your own $50 file for $40 – great – but why would you want to do that?

Hi

Is envato changing his referral system? I ask this becase in my experience i get 5k to 8k clicks through to the marketplace and most of them are recurring clients that are already buyers and most of the buyers deposit little money on their first deposit, so i m missing the big purchases.

I think it would be a better deal if envato shares a small percentage but for every sale made. There are other referral programs that work this way and i feel, not sure, that those work better. The more earnings for publisher the more traffic envato will get and i think this is win-win outcome.

Let me know what you think

I think this thread is a bit oldddddd haha :)

Besides that, i think it should be as it is.

Because if you make something like this much more profitable all hell goes loose with creative constructions from countless marketeer sites that eventually will make this a really bad marketplace. It makes the focus of TF shift the wrong way.
