Nine or so days ago I’ve uploaded the project. It was rather complicated project (for me, not for the future users), and I had some hopes on it.

Unfortunately, there were four free flourishes from deviantart in the project. The project was rejected, because I wasn’t allowed to resell these flourishes. So what I did was just removing the flourishes from the archive (not from the project, it still needed them) and putting the url for them into the help file. One of the workflow steps now was to download these free flourishes, because without them the clips in the project would be offline.

After a long week of reinspection, it was rejected again. They say, it is not allowed to place the projects where the elements have to be downloaded from other sites. They advised me to recreate the flourishes.

In my opinion, the situation is rather silly. What’s the vital difference between the element you must download from other site for free and free fonts? What’s the difference between them and not free plugins you must purchase on other site to work with some another project? What can you advice me (except recreating) to make this project approved?

I have an idea to prerender all the flourishes into one videofile with animation of my camera, so it definitely wouldn’t be reselling, and include into the archive. Will it work? Thank you.

If your project depend on external resources it makes risks for the customers. External resource owner may remove his element or change license so it is not free anymore or can’t be used for any commercial purpose, etc.

Difference with free fonts may be that customer can easily switch to other font. So many of them available for free or for some fee. Everybody even have standard fonts in the system as last choice. Can customer of your project same easily (as with fonts) switch to other elements if free element you use is no more available?

Just thoughts.

Best Regards, Andrey

Hi, Andrey, thank you for the answer. Of course, the customer can replace the footage with anything they want or turn the layers off. But I understood :). Can you give me some advice how to deal with this situation?

This nice project http://videohive.net/item/wedding-invitation-wedding-announcement/1581651 has flourishes from Videocopilot.net in the preview, but of course, they are not included in the project. Please answer, if it would be correct if I
  1. Leave the preview as is with the flourishes
  2. replace the flourishes with blank compositions
  3. leave the link to that free flourishes in the description, but write that you can add the flourishes, instead of that you have to, and you can use anything you want
  4. add step-by-step manual about how to add decorative elements into the project help file.

The flourishes are not the main part of my project. Is it correct? Thank you.

@rodovid Are you sure that the flourishes that you used in the project are allowed for commercial purpose?

You can use these flourishes for any purpose you want, even for commercial projects, but, please, DO NOT SELL THEM!
