Remove White Background

Hey guys,

I need some help with some images. I’ve bought 4 images (icons) from fotolia.com but they are jpg with white background. How do I remove the white background from the image to make it transparent, they also have some shadows so it makes it even more difficult.

Try using the “Quick Selection Tool”

I just tried it and it does a good job.

There’s always by hand. Nothing beats it. If you search for “cut out”, “isolate”, “remove background” in Google you But find varying techniques – There are different ways of approaching this.

On the other hand you can also find some handy tools here which were great if the backgrounds are not too complicated. Search the “add-ons” category for “isolate” or “removal” and you will find several tools.

I have purchased a couple of them, I don’t want to link in the forum to favour one or the other author. Both work great, but doing it by hand always gives a better results.
