I have always been a Windows lad, ever since starting out over 10 years ago.
I then purchased the latest high end iMac about 2-3 months ago.
It took a while to get use to it, but now i am starting to really like it.
So much so, its painful to go to work using a windows when designing the front end of a website.
I use Chrome on both Windows and Mac but the difference is painful to see.
Is there a way of rendering the fonts a little better on Windows?
You’re absolutely right, it’s total crap.
The issue is related to cleartype rendering. If you turn it off, fonts are rendered properly (with anti-aliasing. etc.). To my knowledge, only Firefox has some ‘special’ font rendering, which is good, but not the best.
Wonder how come they didn’t provide a hotfix, service pack or something similar?
I can understand if the difference was not huge but the fact that its pixelating the fonts to a point where some fonts are not even readable!
