who frequent this website know about that switch menu, but for a new user it could take a while till it will eventually finds out about it. So is necessary to have a info somewhere that explain how this works. And indeed, envato chose to place it on that big space were “art101” wants to (re)place recent items area.
so
envato needs the info area for every potential “first time” visitor that will land on whatever website page. To let them know there are other marketplaces out there.
but, the meaning of that little switch is to occupy less space but because you need the info area to explain how the switch menu works, this functionality has not been obtained. Area occupied by info menu on this page is approximately 620×280

It is obvious to expect the list of market places to be showed under Envato button. Sadly it shows Tut+ etc on there which diserves to be moved to footer of the site. (where it currently explains how to navigate the marklet places using 2 tiny arrows located on top which is several hundred pixels above

1)Envato can use cookies to check for new visitors. Only new visitors will see the switch marketplace tip.
2) A small pop up windows that only shows for New visitors to notify them about the menu switcher
3) Add a close tip button to the tip below. Once it is closed, new item area will be visible!
