Curious to see what authors are using for creating their responsive layouts. I want to make some of my items responsive and I am looking for a good direction to take. I keep hearing about Skeleton but would like to see what others are using as well.

- A layout that is displayed according to device width/height
- A layout that is displayed according to device width/height and changes if browser window is resized (on desktop, for example)
Is option 1 enough for a theme to be accepted here as ‘responsive’?

Skeleton for me, but with TF adding a “Bootstrap compatible” checkbox to the upload form it might be worth reconsidering.

This was more what I was thinking about, I do not think a purely CSS solution would work. Especially when rotation / orientation is on the table.

What about HTML5Boilerplate? What is it actually? Is it the same with Bootstrap? 
Sorry, they may be the easy questions to many of you but when the responsive design comes to framework level, it makes me a bit confusing.
Any advice would be very appreciated.

It may take a bit more, but building a custom framework for your themes pays in the long run. Boilerplate is an amazing framework and if you don’t have experience with media queries it will help you build things faster but there are so many things in there that you won’t be using any time soon.
So my vote goes to a good old handmade framework
