Hi!

The reviewer told me that my app UI wasn’t retina ready.

What are the requirements to say that a UI is retina ready?

Hi Ghreizi, for an item to be considered Retina Ready, it needs to include a version which is double the pixel size of the “standard” version. For example, if your “standard” element size is 300×100 pixels, the Retina version should be 600×200 pixels.

Thank you very much for your post!

The thing is, I have only made an Iphone 5 version of my app UI. And my “standard” version is 640×1136 isn’t this retina for the iPhone 5 or should it be double that?

Should I do a version for non-retina devices and for iPhone 4/4S too?

It is my understanding that UI for a retina ready iPhone 5 should be 640×1136px (2x).
Retina ready for iPhone 4 should be 640 × 960 px (2x).

Can anyone who already has an approved retina ready phone UI please confirm this?

This is exactly how I made now in my latest update :)

The Great Retina Confusion. I’d say, cut some slack with this “retina ready” stuff. after all not even adobe got it right yet.

The reviewer said that I had to double the pixels of each psd file. So the iPhone 4 has a 640×960 display, then I have to make the psd file 1280×1920 and keep it at 72ppi. Can this be true?

Hi Ghreizi, I’m glad to see everything worked out. So after all, simply doubling (2x) the size was enough to get the job done, as mentioned in the first post. Well, congratulations on your approval, it looks great.

I’ve edited the comment referring to ppi, as it causes too much confusion. Cheers.
