Anyone else into new games made in a retro style?

I recently beat Volgarr the Viking and it was some of the best gaming fun I’ve had in years. I’m also trying to play that AVGN game, though it’s a little too difficult imo.

Any other recommendations for games like this?

So have you already beaten all of the real retro games? I have only played a couple newer ones, but nothing worth noting. Just worked my way through Loom again and am now playing the Dig (both some of the best games made IMO).

“Papers please” is cool. Also “Fez” has a great soundtrack.

Yeah! Loom! What an awesome old lucasarts (right?) game. I haven’t played Loom in forever but I still have parts of it engraved in my mind. I’ve never played dig but I may have to look into it.

Yeah Loom is incredible, even today. The Dig is just as good (if not better) and is partially written by Orson Scott Card (Enders Game) and Spielberg had his hands in it also (producer?) The voice acting and backdrop artwork was some of the best Lucasarts ever did.

Oh, Monkey Island I & II… good times! The ending of the second one was pretty memorable.

Wanting to play some Master of Orion 2 if I find the time these days.

I haven’t beaten every retro game but there are times when I discover a hidden gem that I missed out on as a youngster.. Most recently I discovered Mr. Gimmick on NES-which sadly wasn’t released in America. Awesome game! Reaaaaally difficult!
