Hi, Not happy with the current review process. Now a days theme review is causing huge time loss. Minimum 7-10 days delay for a item is not seems good for the 3.9 million community. If the item is bad then reject it but do not hang it in queue. Always watching one or two reviewer reviewing every of my item. What it mean ? Only 2-5 reviewer for 3.9 million community? Or 7k authors who are providing items? It thats number really enough? Really envato review system is now a big time killing machine. I had wrote this to forum 3 times may be but no improvement. Day by day process is going to down. Is there anyone there to take care the issue? Hire more reviewers or make a reviewer community from authors. Do what you like but we want review system very fast either it got approved or reject.

What you think guys? Anyone really tense about this ?

I think you should use your time while you are waiting to do something more valuable. Maybe go through and update old items to improve them? Maybe work on your next project? Work on marketing? Just because your item is waiting in the queue it doesn’t mean you have to sit there and do nothing ;)

Well said, but they do not sit there and do nothing, each month someone complain on reviewers or review process, so they do something. :P

To be little more serious will start from myself, I was hard rejected 5-6 times last 6 months, several times soft rejected, I waited from 2-15 days for decision about item and or update and when I look back at my work, reviewers evaluations was always on spot (I talk about Kai and Ivor), did not meet new reviewers yet. About time of review process it is better to have 2 high class reviewers than 20 mediocre which will increase speed instead of quality, and I think that is the main reason why Envato is slow with hiring many reviewers, and that is smart from my point of view.

Personally do not have anything against new authors to complain, I was the same before and fast with complains, they did not learn the school yet, but I see Elite authors here complains about reviewing time and review process which is little beneath of what we all expect from Elite guys here.

So, why exactly are elite authors specifically not allowed to voice their displeasure with the growing time it takes to have their items reviewed? I find it very odd that more people are not concerned that the review process is taking longer now than in the past, since a situation deteriorating (and not improving) should always be cause for concern. It doesn’t bode well for the future if the process continues to get worse.

At what point would elite authors be permitted to talk about how slow the review process has gotten? When it takes 1 month to hear back? 5 months?

We are concerned, but there have been countless threads without any real reply or solution, I’ve already said my opinion on how to fix this situation but I’ve never received any feedback on it.

No of course, elite authors can talk anytime and they should always stand out first, which we all appreciate, at least me. I do not have anything against it. But elite authors are more qualified to have more understanding than beginners for changes, especially for the review process, but it is opposite recently and that is what I wanna point out at first place.

When items approved in 2-3 days, many of elite authors stand out: ”...it is short time, we are on 2nd page already…”, when items approved in 9-10 days many elite authors stand out: ”...it is long time and that killing us…”, so actually what we all want from review process?

Give some constructive proposal which solve problems, you are elite, you have experience etc. When I say ‘you’ I mean all elite authors.

So let me ask you what is your proposal, how to solve things properly for all to be happy?

All you need is a lot of luck to stay on the first page for more than a day or two. With our last theme we are still on the first page after 4 days, with the previous theme we went off the first page in less then a day.

So if you are lucky you can have more exposure, but this is not related to review time. So there is no diffrence if review time take 2 days or 10.

This was good at the beggining, but after a month we are in the same position as if the review would take one day, instead of one week.

I’ve already said it a couple of times, a “release queue” where approved themes would go, that would release 1-2-3 items hourly(or any number based on statistics from the previous month so we would all have the same exposure time, without waiting days and days for approval and losing exposure within a few hours

That idea sounds good but:

What about soft rejected items and others, how to handle that part? Few “release queues” maybe like: approved – soft rejected – hard rejected? What if ‘last month statistic” has 50% less items in queue than this month and approval hours stay 1-2-3 items hourly, imagine that queue/review time/exposure time?

Still not perfect solution I think.
