Hello, I would like to discuss with all of you fellow authors the topic which came to my mind long time ago, when the reviewing team was expanded and the items “History” was activated.
I have seen many new projects because I watch each one of them. That is for real, I preview all new incoming AE projects, check the price, version, author, subjective quality and so on. Since the “Item History” (you are able know who reviewed/approved your item) was implemented, I have noticed that the price of items curiously depends on the matter who reviewer was. Ofcourse all items are different and there is some criteria like “taste” involved, but anyway checking many items and also knowing who reviewed my items I noticed and made a theory that the same item could be priced differently if the reviewer was different. I am not saying it’s good thing, I am not saying it’s bad thing, I just want to understand the importance of pattern and rhetorical formula how the price is formed. Because from one letter from Envato staff I understood that “price can go either way”.
By the way we are able to know who reviewed the item because of the reviewers geographical locations and timezone differences
So do you authors think that there maybe differences between reviewers and price subject depending on a reviewer ? Does it make impact to our earnings ?
Peace be with you
Yes this is weird. And it impacts to the earnings : have a project $20 instead of $15 will make no difference in number of sales but give 30% more profit. Also the low prices templates are more subject to illegal resale on torrents and Fiver. This is just Videohive stuff that you can find illegally, the other market places are not concerned because of highter prices (I think this is the reason) I didn’t see any impact in term of extended sales, I sold a majority of $200 items instead of $150.

Yes its true there are different prices, depend totally from the reviewer. Also what is approved depend totally from the reviewer. I suppose the price of a template depends from a lot of factors. For sure something that priced from one reviewer for 15 dollars will never be prices from another reviewer for 25 or 30 dollars.
If the differences we are talking about are for 2 to 5 dollars from reviewer to reviewer, I don’t see any kind of issue.

I am sure that you know well that price doesn’t affect sales.

I have contacted the support about different item prices three times already asking to rereviewe the pricing and change it. Will keep it doing when I feel the price was subject to reviewers personal taste.

yes but it affects our earnings. if you sell item with price tag of 15$ instead of 20$. And it doesn’t affect the sales that means it affects the earnings even more. You earn 25-30% less with same amount of sales.

When i make a Logo Intro i expect a price to be between 8$ and 12$. When i make something more complicated i expect 12$ to 15$
But for anything more complex i write in the comment section why my project file should be 20$ or 25$ or 30$... And i always get the price i think it deserves.

Is that allowed? If yes, I will start to do that, too.
