Ridiculous Copyright Violations.....

So, I just found out through emails from people that the person who ripped off my file, my original ideas, my naming conventions, and my product description also copied my userguide WORD FOR WORD .

My userguide:

I started off being nice, but now seeing the extent of which I was ripped off I demand an answer from FlashDen about how they are letting such a blatant copy exist on the website.

Could not agree more, its an absolute joke. So many failings here.

1) It should never have been approved in the first place.
2) if you have to approve it don`t price it lower than the original file!
3) FD has not listened to the multiple support tickets telling them about this. I had my ticket closed without a response
4) listen to the thread on the forum, containing views from other authors.

I am really disappointed with the way this been handled.

That file already sold around 46 copies which means this (and similar cases) should be avoided in the reviewing stage itself.

This is ridiculous.

Chuck I agree, but I understand it was approved, since we can’t expect the approvers to know every file on FlashDen. Still it’s quite sad..

I think the FD/envato support system is lacking, too. There should be a number of people assigned to providing support, each of them knowing what they’re talking about and can assess the priority of different support tickets. Then again, I have no clue what the support backend looks like at the moment, which brings me to another point:

We (I :)) want more transparency in the Envato system. It’s good to see some site improvements every now and then, but I think it would be good for author (/buyer) confidence if we would hear more from staff. So to staff: I think it’d be cool if you’d show your face around here (on the forums) a bit more. Let us know what you think of the subjects discussed on the forums, or just keep us posted on what the developers are doing. We’d all love to know!!

Actually in this case i do expect the reviewers to pick this up. Michealhejja`s file is the 10th most sold file of all time. Its a very high profile file, there is no other file on here that is as well know.

Even if the reviewer missed it the first time, how did they miss the similarities when they were asked to investigate it? I find it unbelievable that this second check failed. The name, design, file descriptions and help file are direct rips.

great message FD is sending out on this one We will profit from your hours and hours of hard work and offer no protection if someone comes along and copies it 99%, even when everyone is telling you its a rip. Oh and we will price the new file lower just to make sure your file is dead.

What i am really puzzled about is in my own experience FD has been great about removing copies. All it took was a gentle email. Do you think they just wanted the cash and hoped the fuss would die down?

This is why I did not raise a public stink about it at first, just quietly sent the email to support. The only explanation I can possibly think of is that this person is buddies with somebody at FD.
