This news hit me like a ton of bricks. This guy was such an important part of my childhood and later in life as I grew to respect his serious roles. There really are no words…

One of my favourite actors for his performances in Good Will Hunting and Dead Poets Society. :(

Same here. He really contributed a lot to my childhood wonder (Jumanji, Hook, Patch Adams, Mrs. Doubtfire, Aladdin) AND adulthood wonder (Dead Poet’s Society, Good Will Hunting, What Dreams May Come, and Good Morning, Vietnam).

I pray this brings to light the severity of depression. It’s a disease that needs to be treated like one. Here’s a man that came across as incredibly happy. And I’m sure he was. But no one is immune to depression and it’s not something someone can “just get over.” It takes a healthy community. It always takes a healthy community.

So sad.

I am very sad to wake up to this news this morning. He is one of my all time favourite comedians and a great actor. RIP Robin Williams.

This was all well said. He was such an extraordinary man who brought laughter and tears at all the right points to people of all ages. He was my idol and I will always admire him. I was so surprised to learn years ago of his struggles, but this was just unreal. I always thought he would laugh his way back to his old self. It’s astonishing when someone so loved by so many near and afar can feel so lonely and empty. Depression is an awful thing :(
