On Friday, the 26-year-old polymath Aaron Swartz was found dead in his apartment, the result of an apparent suicide. Swartz contributed his intellect and effort to an astonishing number of technologies and political causes, including collaborating on Reddit’s early development.

Yeah I certainly wouldn’t call this old news. In any case this was really sad news and yet another startling reminder of the dangers of stress and depression. Suicide should never be the answer, and anyone who is remotely thinking about the possibility of hurting themselves should get in touch with their local suicide hotline (http://www.suicidehotlines.com/international.html). It’s completely anonymous and sometimes it just helps to talk.

My thoughts are certainly with his friends and family right now.
