I find it easier to explain a lot of things in screencasts. Do you think a screencast service would have any demand for authors here?

Basically, if they are having to explain things a lot or people keep having the same problems with the theme, the author could hire somebody to make a screencast for them. Additionally the video would be posted on a channel to increase exposure a little.

I guess I’m not sure why an author would need to hire someone when they could just make a screencast themselves (especially with simple free options like screenr.com).

Though perhaps the service would be useful for non-English speaking authors?

Yeah I guess its easy enough to make yourself these days.

Extra exposure, save time and obviously the language as you mentioned. It would probably not been much use though really, especially when you factor in the person doing the screencast would also need to buy a copy of the theme presumably.

I dont think the buyers don’t know how to use a theme especially if you make a good documentation. The problem is that some buyers (not to many but enough to mess your rating) want different features that are not present within the theme. Now you have to answer questions , you have to develop other themes, doing custom work for free it’s just not possible. I really think Envato should allow authors to refund money (even if the author also pays Envato’s cut, maybe only 5 refunds /month), that would really help both authors both buyers.

A customization service is probably of more use then. Presumably that already exist in some form.

Yes, you are right a customisation service, thats what this market needs, still the question is who pays for it :)

The customer would have to surely. Only the very top authors could afford to pay a subscription to some sort of service. Maybe even an envato elite perk – although that seems a bit unfair.
