I was wondering I am doing a website for a company that has a lot of product and they want to be able to search for items by item number

any ideas where I could get the code for that? should I go with google search or some kind of javascript?

Google Site Search is a pretty quick way to get a site search up and running, if you have PHP +MySQL I’ve used http://www.sphider.eu/ before with pretty good luck.

I used http://www.sphinxsearch.com/ with a recent codeigniter project and had great success with that as well…
