Hello,

I am fairly new at mixing and mastering. If anyone could give me some (constructive) criticism I would really appreciate it.

My mixes aren’t great. But your low end is a bit crowded… It needs to be more defined. Cut away at sounds that don’t need to be in that space like your higher strings. I found this was mainly in your first track. Think about the octaves they sit in and which instrument needs to utilise which space. I would also suggest cutting away at that audiojungle watermark, it has loads of unnecessary low end. I think you could emphasize the higher frequencies a little bit too, again mainly in the first track.

Things just sound like they need more separation.. their own space in the mix. Hope this helps.

Thank you, I was thinking about the same. I mixed them on a set of Sennheiser HD-380 PRO … do you think that might have anything to do with me not hearing the low end so well?

I’m not familiar with those. I see they are headphones after a Google search… I’d suggest trying to mix on speakers, but then referencing on headphones. Or vice versa if you prefer. But try some different approaches to what you are currently doing and see if that helps. I personally just trust speakers more.
