Hi guys,

we are going to start to create some html templates. Can we include the swf files of some of our activeden files? How is this regulated? Do we have to include also the flash source or we can just provide the xml driven swf file? (like the free swf banners included in some of the templates on sale here).

What else should we know before we upload our first template?

Many thanks,

Parker

Nooo , stay at AD ! :P

I’m joking :) HTML theme with XML driven banner will be really really good I think.

I think your clean style will be perfect for theme here.

You’re allowed to add flash into your templates. But I doubt you’re allowed to include exactly the same files that are on sale in the other marketplaces. I think, if it’s just the SWF and XML files then it would be fine but not the source file.

I don’t know for sure though.

Why not?, authors on themeforest do the same thing. We upload PSD , HTML with PSD and Wordpress with PSD .

I don’t see any problems doing this, but i could be wrong since i don’t know if activeden has different rules for these situations.

Well, I can use my flash files in other AD products, so I guess I can do the same with my TF themes…

I’m asking because if I add also the flash source then the value of the theme wouldn’t be comparable to the other themes that use open source flash files… that wouldn’t be fair for other TF authors I guess.

I think only a reviewer or a staff member can answer my question… or authors that have already done the same before.

I know that this is a stupid question, because I know that is impossible to protect html markup from being stolen… btw, what do you guys do in order to protect your live previews?

Thanks :-)

I do nothing to prevent it to be stolen, only thing i do is search for my files once in a while and report those sites to TF support and send the site in question an email if they can remove the file from there list.

The reason i do nothing is that there’s no good solution for this piracy problem, every hack can be manipulated.
