I guess it just showed my inexperience as an author, having only been an author for less than 4 months.
I would always try and reason with people and try and justify myself, but I guess i’m learning it’s best just to hit that ‘Report’ button.
I can appreciate your frustration. We’ve had a handful be rude through email and the comments but frankly responding to them only fans the flames. I’ve had my own business for eight years and you can’t make everyone happy….ever.
One suggestion is to moderate your comments a little and not engage in personal conversations through them with people. You need to maintain a measure of professional distance from the people who purchase your code (that’s just my advice and how I prefer to do things – others may disagree but to each his own as each direction creates its own unique issues).
I do my best to maintain a strictly support presence on my comments and not engage in side conversations or provide witticisms (IRL I do all the time but I want this to be different). Keep yourself professional and keep your head up.
I almost expect that from this marketplace now… makes me wanna avoid submitting new items sometimes. Some people here, all they do is run around commenting on things they don’t have the talent to create..
We should be able to block specific users (cyber-stalkers/bullies) from commenting on or buying/rating our work, like YouTube. Maybe giving them a reputation would be nice too..
Truth is, I just do this for a hobby, to keep my mind occupied.. most of my earnings go to charities anyway… but no one in my life is ever as rude to me as strangers on CodeCanyon can be.. it doesn’t help my social anxiety disorder at all.
I agree with Endat to a degree. I think its important for people who have PURCHASED the plugin to be able to communicate directly with the seller. What annoys me are people who just want to post and tell you what they think you’ve done wrong.
It would be nice to be able to rate purchasers but, frankly, they sign up for a new account and those ratings are gone – not a reasonably practical solution.
Perhaps a system for rating a plugin (by the seller) of the difficulty with implementing and using their item would be helpful ie Plug in and go, Requires Customization, etc or the more generic Beginner, Intermediate, Advanced…

wdcs – Guy’s attacking me out of the blue and flagging every response i make, and every positive feedback i’ve received from other customers, and also legitimate support from the past.. making empty threats to potition to have my account removed.. Isn’t that like, abuse? Would be nice if I could block pieces of trash like this from being able to enter my realm for the purpose of causing damage
