I just purchased a logo on graphicriver for $29
then
I look at the PSDs popular items and I see a template with “111” Layered PSD files for $12 and another PSD Template with 5 PSDs for $8
is this normal ? logical ? fair ?
it’s not over…
some HTML templates from 2008 are sold for $20 and the new ones that include all the possible options you could ever have are sold for $15

Guys, sometimes a PSD to HTML conversion is more complex than HTML to WP conversion, and at the same time we shouldn’t forget that sometimes PSDs are crucial to enter themeforest, it’s a key.

Envato is not dribbble we’re not here to showcast our projects, we’re here to generate revenues and do business, so I think this pricing structure should be taken seriously into consideration as soon as possible.

I agree, with the html to WP i think if a WP template is selling for $55 the html template should at least sell for half of it not in the teens.

+1 Here

When you see a new HTML template for $13 and a very old one for $20, the new one has so many options, they are uncomparable.

I know there has been a price change recently, but still…

(And don’t get me started at the devaluation of the dollar nowadays)

1 US Dollar = 0.73 Euro. For those living in UK is even worse because right now 1 US Dollar = 0.61 GBP, so for a template worthing $15 a new autor gets an amazing amount of about 4-5 pounds for each sale :(

then it’s commercially not viable unless you get an HTML jackpot…

If anyone agrees to this, you obviously are not a wordpress developer.

To make a wordpress theme work on some complex html themes is a million times more difficult than converting from psd > html

I have 10 years in photoshop, html, css and javascript/jquery

I have 5 years in WordPress.

So I have enough experience to say if you come to this conclusion you are either not so strong in psd > html or not so strong in WordPress.

In this day and age, with all the features the public are wanting and the demand for complex designs, WordPress is far more time consuming and demanding than converting a PSD to Html.

If you think otherwise, it means you are not adding enough functionality into your WordPress themes to really test yourself or your Html > WordPress conversions have been pretty simple Html templates.

Dont get me wrong, I agree the pricing structure needs changing.

But if PSD goes to $20 then html needs to go to $40 and WordPress needs to go to a minimum of $65

This will not happen because people will not pay more than other stock sites.
