Hey there,
I’m looking for a trusted person (which should have recommendations from well know author across envato marketplaces), who can “tweak” my webserver a little. I’ve a dedicated-virtual (dv) 4.0 at mediatemple and at this stage it should be a “piece of cake” for the person who know what he/she is doing.
Thanks!

Actually opposite to that. Removing unwanted mods, setting mysql (changing params to get more performance)

Got any more info on what part is running slow?
and specs on the hosting account (how many sites, what type of sites, like wordpress etc.., or custom php scripts, forums etc..)?
ie: generally running slow on all hosted sites, or running slow only when certain php scripts are accessed, or using lots of resources from a particular script
If you have phpMyAdmin you can click the “localhost” > “Processes” tab at the top (from memory) and it will show you all running mysql queries. If you see a query that stays there for longer than 2 or 3 seconds then there is a problem.
Any more info showing what/where performance is needed would be tops.
Cheers,
dtbaker
Google for ‘server administration services’. There are quite a few companies offering server admin services, either based on a monthly subscription or on a per need basis / one-time deal.
I suggest searching for reviews as well before settling on a particular one. I’ve used several in the past myself whenever I had major problems I couldn’t deal with myself.

I’d recommend Aaran to help you. Edit: Not that I am discrediting anything DTBaker says
Aaran did some tweaks on the server I use which resulted in RAM usage dropping 60% and my sites being noticeably faster

Thanks for that, just to say, quickandeasy’s server was going 100%+ and now its at 30-40% its mainly removing stuff thats not needed, and removing downloadable files off the server.
but feel free to contact me, skype; aaran.mcguire

Install WP Super cache, mod_rewrite method as that alone will boost your webserver performances far more than any other optimization.

dtbaker: Actually everything is running fast enough, but sometimes throw the (mt) panel I see that memory usage is running low (few times I saw 150% out of 100%), but then I’ve done few tuts on site performance from (mt) knowledge base and now it’s around 60%. So I guess I did something good :))) The problem is that I’m absolutely zero in that field and I want someone to revise what I’ve done and make additional changes if required.
On my dedicated virtual, only my WP demo sites are running.
quickandeasy: Thanks for the references! I’ll be contacting Aaron soon
pixelentity: Thanks, installing it now.
