I’ve read your article and still can’t understand why you would think that having to writing n lines of code, as a buyer, with no php knowledge, is better and less confusing than using something like this:

Apparently, from what I researched, people want short-codes. It’s a required feature if you want to be popular. Making a better alternative (not by me, just saying, a possible update to short-codes) is going to take a lot of time. Meanwhile, as authors we have to provide support and maybe even functionality for them . At least, since we don’t control the rules of this, we can provide the best versions with the best experience we possibly can, and move along, and update, very very slowly
