Shoutbox

I’m not sure if this has been discussed before(search shows nothing) but sometimes I really feel like a shoutbox would be a great addition. Ofcourse, not on the home page but somewhere in the forum.

I sometimes have small doubts and questions like how does the popular file and weekly features work? or want an opinion on something or would like to share a link and I would rather talk about it in the chat/shoutbox than forums.

An IRC channel would be cool but I understand many would find it hard to use.

The shoutbox could be in such a way like all the @themeforest replies on twitter would show in it.

Ummm…I can actually think of some downsides of having it too but has someone got a better idea out there?

Oh god, a busy site like this a ShoutBox would lag and slow the server severely not to mention artists trying to spam the shoutbox with their own work. It’d be to chaotic if you ask me and I don’t think we should have it at all.

haha…ok..but any alternative? or maybe we just need more authors on twitter

i seem to recall someone suggesting an area on the forums accessible only to authors. would that be a step in the right direction?
