Hey everyone, This is my first post, and I just uploaded my first track here on AJ, so I’m doing the 12 day wait with great anticipation, until you can enjoy 10 seconds of pure monkey madness. :)

So here’s my amazing idea, that AJ and probably other Envato marketplaces too would benefit by greatly. Sorry if this has been suggested before, it’s kinda hard to scan the forums easily.

I find this list interesting: http://audiojungle.net/category/list

How about you show a similar list, but with what’s hot and what’s not. What I mean by that is, if you’d show the number of uploads vs sales in each category, it would make it easier for authors to create what’s wanted, thus generating more sales, and producing less noise.

An example (with some made up stats):

- There are 12221 tracks in the corporate category - 500 was uploaded in the last 30 days - 250 sales were made in the last 30 days

This sounds like it’s kinda saturated, and pretty hard to get noticed in this category.

Let’s take another example: - There are 499 tracks in the country/western category - 25 was uploaded in the last 30 days - 250 sales were made in the last 30 days

Wow, that sounds like a good old gold mine to me. I would definitely start to interest myself in making some serious phat banjo tracks! :)

I think the trends could be shifting from time to time, or maybe it’s always the same, but I’d really like to know. I’m as curious as my cousin George :)

How’d you like this idea? Since there are already download stats on each track, getting it to show what’s going on right now, would really help AudioJungle get more wanted tracks, and less saturation.

Well now I’m off to my cage (the monkey studio) to produce some more mad tracks.

See and hear ya soon! :)

Yeah, I guess that kind of makes sense. But maybe it could be “dumbed down” a bit. For example, just have a “Trending Page”. It can show which categories have been trending in the past week, month, etc. And conversely, which categories have been going cold.

Perhaps this could be a resource solely for authors.

Thanks :)

Yeah a dumbed down version would be reasonable, since too much information would probably be confusing to follow.

You’re right, buyers shouldn’t need to see this information. Actually a much more simple way of implementing something similar to this, would be to just add a feature in the “Sort by” dropdown, where you could choose Sales last 30 days or so. Or maybe as a separare dropdown, somewhere along the lines of this:

But I guess it’s always easier with a more broad overview of all categories, than to do this in each and every category. Especially since it never remembers what sort options I chose. Is this to promote new songs, as it always sorts by date?

Are there any special feature request section, or do I just post a question like this here, and see what happens? :)

Have a great day!
