It’s his API key.. He creates his key just like you create yours..

I don’t know to be honest. Maybe bitfade can tell you. I’ve tested with another account..

Keys can now be deleted so it wouldn’t be like giving out envato account details.

Modifications of template files will be overwritten/lost unless you make your modifications by using a child theme, in which case they will remain.
