Simply Colorful Theme, I need your help!

OK, this is my first post here on the forums. I have created a theme called Simply Colorful that is continuously rejected by the Wordpress reviewer. I have submitted over 5 different versions of the theme, all of which have had significant changes and improvements, and all of which have been rejected.

• Uses the new Post Thumbnail functionality built into Wordpress 2.9 for all site thumbnails.
• Custom Admin Options Panel
• All colors are 100% customizable via the Options Panel
• Customizable Contact and Archives pages all done from Options Panel
• jQuery powered featured section and pre & code field expansion.
• RSS reminder to help you increase your subscriber count

The reviewer describes gives this reasoning for the rejections: “1. The overall design definitely need some improvements. Ya, it is minimal and mean to be simple, but, it just not professional enough. 2. The use of typography, line height and spacing/padding need some adjustment.” Please help me improve my theme. I have close to 200 hours of development into it, and I am not one to give up.

How do you think I can improve it? Any positive or negative criticism is welcome, I wont be offended. I would especially love to hear from some of the seasoned ThemeForest.net sellers.

From a quick glance, I tend to agree about the line-height. For example, for the intro text “Posting Demo & Tips for the Simply Colorful Theme” it seems like there is a bit too much line-height for that section. Just my two cents, it’s looking pretty nice

Hmm….I really like the theme to be honest. It’s clean, neat, looks like it has a lot of options, and is a lot better than a lot of the themes out there. Sorry but I don’t know of anything I would change at the moment.

Thank You, I have resubmitted it with the line-height issues fixed, numerous tweaks and bug fixes, and a new logo. Fingers crossed it gets accepted!!!

If anyone has any other suggestions, please let me know, I will continue to tweak it after it is accepted with bug fixes and visual tweaks if needed.

If it is being temporarily held for review, it just simply means they need more time to look at it. Perhaps inspect some third party asset or merely get a second opinion from another reviewer, nothing to worry about

The hostgator ad definitely needs to go if at all possible, I’ll let some of the much more talented designers give their feedback, I’m more of a backend guy

Oh the Host Gator Ad is a no-no? It doesn’t mention that as a rule in the upload guide lines. http://themeforest.net/upload/help?type=wordpress Did I miss that rule, or is that more of just a suggestions? As for the talented designers giving feedback, none of them unfortunately ever come to the forums. I even asked the reviewer guy to come by and chime in, but nothing!
