I was wondering something important to me. How emulating/replicating a real orchestra from Virtual Instruments was going for me.

I’m big into the film genre as that is my main thing. Sweeping strings, blaring horns and all that, and I was wondering how close I am to getting there.

Soft piece escalating to a climax. http://audiojungle.net/item/full-epic-movie-score/2674754
Hard epic piece. http://audiojungle.net/item/laser-kiss/2639080

I have no emotional attachment to any piece of music so give me your worst ;)

If “10” is as professional has it gets on the silver screen and “1” sounds like I’ve never done this before in my life and I can’t replicate a real orchestra worth garbage… where do I stand? 1-10 give it to me factually I can take it :)

This will tell me how much time I need to spend micromanaging all the sounds to sound more like a real scoring session, because other than sales I don’t get much feedback, and sales don’t tell me if it sounds like the real thing or not.

The first work sounds great. Exactly it sounds great at the moment before 1:04. Then begins signs that it is still not a natural orchestra – chopped off notes, too long legato (at 1:20 – 1:36, cello), the repetition of the same samples (so-called machine gun effect). But the orchestra in this work is breathing.

In the second work – basically all is well. But only the orchestra strongly pushed into the background, which is slightly spoils the impression.

P.S.: I would like to say more, but English is not my native language, so it hard a bit to express himself on it. :(

Overall it sounds fairly convincing to me. I’d probably give it an 8/10 for realism. I’d say your weak spot in the first piece is some of the woodwind stuff toward the beginning. The brass, strings, and percussion all sound good to me.

Awesome stuff either way.
