Hey,

I have a client who doesn’t want to pay for building a site search feature.

Does anyone know of any where I can grab a free site search?

Trying to avoid Google.

LOL . I have a client who doesn’t want to pay for “Feature XXXX ”. So I tell them to get lost. ;)

Seriously though, I haven’t found a truly quick an easy search solution that I would ever include into a site for a client for free. It’s always a little harder and takes more time than you anticipate, and working for free sucks.

Why are you trying to avoid Google, exactly?

You can easily make it fit in with your client’s design, plus make money from it

I can’t say I’ve ever found a good self-hostd search script but Hotscripts – http://www.hotscripts.com/ – will probably have one for free

Maybe you need to give SlickBox a try. Looks pretty good and it works.
