My site template got rejected. Please share your opinions about my design….......

Here are the rejection reasons:-

1.Overall, this is a very solid effort. I’m seeing a few issues that will need to be rectified but before that you need a bigger issue first — genericness.

2.Try to make your theme’s design more unique and less simplistic. A unique design is a key factor for approval.

Here is the link for demo

Hi hiraks ! I had the same answer today for my item…according to my understanding, they are tired of always having the same construction in design (header, slider, content, widgets, footer). So they refuse items that have this construction … We must be original :p
Just my opinion, hope it will help you ;)
Regards,

Yes but they don’t … since if that was the case there would be far less items like that up there and the problem is they sell.

About the template, the problem is that it gives you a feeling from a design point of view that you just threw everything quickly together. For example: just look at the quote icon all messy and distorted, typo is bad, absolutely no focus on details.

Remember presentations is everything, for example: icons, you have just one icons and replicated. You have to put yourself from the point of a unskilled buyer perspective. Most buyers do not see the potential in themes and do not know php, html, css, etc. They get what they see and what your wp backend can give them.

hope this helps at all in future ventures.

Good luck

Yours Navigation looks good. But you didn’t work on your dropdown. And upper social icons are not having sharp edges , so use better quality icon’s. As well slider is loading slowly and transition is not sharp. I don’t think it’s bad design. Review your code and execution. Best of luck.

The theme has a lot going on – I would try and make a little less going on but that’s just my opinion.

Use Illustrator instead of photoshop to have a crisp vector image’s in the demo content. And change the typography.

Thanks vivinblack for your comments. I will kindly request if you can tell me what to change in the typography.? DO you mean shall I change the font? or Font-family or font-size. If you can please be specific that will help me.

Not a bad effort in parts, but there are points that need tweaking, that caught my eye.

The navigation looks a little dated, and the dividers between the items are a little strong, make them a little more subtle, or drop them altogether.

The slider has some really poor imagery in it, the ‘Unplugged Development’ one has that low-res character with the shopping cart, use some sharper imagery. The ‘view work’ buttons as well look like they belong on another design, bring them into line with your theme a little more.

The Call to Action box under your slider needs improving, the text needs more room to breathe, and the stitched border does not sit well with the rest of your theme design.

There are some nice elements on the theme, and with a little more polish, I think it could do well.

thanks
