The US Government just loves breaking amendments…
Starting this week, ISPs in the US will be monitoring everything you download, coming after anyone who may be doing any “illegal” file-sharing.

people used internet to form a party from nothing while having all tv networks and printed press against them. That party become a major political force just yesterday.
Is quite complex but interesting event.
I’m thrilled, I hope we get to stamp out a lot of piracy, at least from some downloaders:
http://www.myfoxny.com/story/21347184/net-providers-begin-warning-of-illegal-downloadsanyone who creates content (which gets pirated) should also be happy about this. Glad to see many filesharing sites were taken down last year, let’s hope this trend continues, to kill piracy.

As much as I hate piracy of my work this can have very unintended (or intended, I’m cynical) consequences for free speech. Doru brings up a perfect example with Italy. I believe this is what the ISPs are mostly happy about from the article graphic4444 mentions above:
“Consumers who maintain they have been wrongly accused would be forced to pay $35 to appeal the decision. The fee would be reimbursed if they prevail.”

Most likely a political security measure than protecting intellectual property in my opinion.
I’d rather have all my work pirated then being monitored.
