-1I’d say this is a bad move and has not been thought through by Enavto.
So in an attempt to fix the rare situation where a buyer mistakingly gives a rating of 1 star, the system has been completely opened, creating a situation where a buyer, who is angry that you won’t bend over backwards (again) and help make the latest change requested by their client, can use the ratings as a device to get revenge on authors (who are not required to give support in the first place)!
IMO it would make more sense to allow 1 single change only of the rating system, to allow for the correction of a mistake rating, and that this rating, if lower then the first one, is required to be accompanied by an explanation / feedback / reason for change – which is sent anonymously to the author.
This would obviously still be open to abuse, but in a limited way compared to this new system.

Totally agree!
Customers should only be able to increase rating every time and decrease only within, let’s say one hour after the last rating so they still can “test” the rating system

I think a simple popup “you’re going to rate 4* this file” [CONFIRM] should be enough.
A comment field attached to the rating that emails to the author would be a nice improvement for the future. Getting postive feedback is great but getting constructive criticism is even better.

I second this! We must be careful not to create a monster! Its nice to have the chance to correct a rating but this shouldn’t be done so easily.
Maybe a rethink is in order?

This is a GREAT idea! I started a post yesterday about the feedback from the buyers! This would be a great improvement, so that we can know why our item isn’t better rated!
Great tip Sneek!

Mixed feelings here. Mistaken ratings might get fixed, but good ratings will get challenged and threatened.
I thought I would be the only one with this idea, but I see there a bunch of others that feel the same. A pop-up warnings that alerts the user “Hey, are you sure you want to rate it .. stars, being 1 the worst and 5 the best rating you can give?” would have been a solid solution.
Agree with the comments on the potential for abuse.
A simpler fix for this issue is to prevent the mistake in the first place. A simple ‘apply rating’ button with confirmation popup would do the job.

I really appreciate all the hard work the devs are putting in, and the changes being rolled out in the marketplace!
Unfortunately I have to agree with the general sentiment here – sadly, I think the situation where a buyer feels they want to rate down a product because an author wouldn’t handle their multiple customization requests is going to happen more frequently than a buyer returning to amend their mistaken negative rating. I’m concerned this gives those buyers that like to hold an author hostage even more leverage.
Limiting the number of times a rating can be changed, or simply better informing buyers of what the star ratings indicate ( “I love it”, “I like it”, “It’s okay”, “I dislike it”, “It’s awful”, or whatever), as suggested above, would probably be a better solution, less prone to abuse.

Exactly. This is the point that’s really worrying about. Specially for TF authors.

I agree. Sadly some buyers have a nag for doing this. And it will happen a lot more now that the rating system has changed. A simply confirmation box “Are you sure you want to rate 2 stars” would be enough in my opinion.
