I don’t think those photos are taken with such a small camera. First of all in a city there are too many lights to get a clear view of the sky, hence all large telescopes are on high ground (> 2000m) and away from cities. Also the atmosphere has a big influence (high altitudes -> small density -> better view).

Agreed. I’m having the same question as well. As pointed by Nickys, one of it does look a bit like a wallpaper.

I didn’t mean that it’s not an authentic photo taken by FlashTang :) The mountain lion wallpaper is still a photo of the same galaxy! And the galaxy still looks the same :P

Maybe one shot requires multiple days? Something like pause and resume when the moment is right?

Some of the photos showed here says 8min and (20min x 30) exposure times. Not sure how it is possible with multiple days of re-centering same guidestar.

With astro calculations where exactly to point to it’s possible, why not? It must be very hard getting that sharp photos since it’s very delicate.

^ Yeah, should be possible with GPS though. But think about solar system’s movement that happens in a day – oh, glad its not my busniess! :D
