Hey all! Today I receive hard reject. I’m very disappointed, cause it was very hard work together with my friend from VH… I receive this : This submission does not meet our composition/arrangement and production (mixing/mastering) standards. I understood the letter…but I sincerely don’t understand, what specifically frightened the reviewer?…. Maybe “sub” hit ? What are you think my friends ? http://soundcloud.com/timofey-ostanin/timofeyostanin-pianodublogo

Situation is sucks :impatient:

i didnt have a problem with the mix here but you have pushed the audio jungle water mark really high. its clouding the tune itself in a big way.you can get stuff passed through with an audible watermark. but as i said, listening to it on very good reference headphones,i cant see any issues with it at all.

I think you need more “space” in wobble sounds, more bass here. The sound you use here sounds too cheap. May be this simplicity killed atmosphere of your track. So add some fx and it will shine.

I thinks it is a nice logo. But, to try to answer why it was rejected, I will take a stab.

I think it is worth stating that, based on my own experience, it is clear that AJ has raised the bar as far as what they will approve. They haven’t specifically told us where the bar is though.

I think you have two elements here that just have too much contrast. You have a lovely ambient piano and you have an abrasive wobble. Strictly from a buyer standpoint, I might shy away from this because it doesn’t cleanly in either dub or ambient. I think the piano alone would have been approved. It is very beautiful, but adding the wobble was probably heard as a distraction.

I am only guessing here, as I really don’t know for certain. My recent experience tells me that they are looking for items that fit cleanly into genres. I would be curious to see what happens if you submit the piano only. I know it was a hard reject, but maybe shift a couple of notes around? I don’t know. It’s kind of a stab in the dark.

From a mixing standpoint, I would:

- Lessen the dynamic range of the track (hit it semi-hard with compression, boost overall volume) - Lower volume of Watermark - It’s a bit dark sounding, so maybe a boost around 8-10k in the synth, 5-6k in the piano - The sub hit isn’t very “defined”, so people won’t hear it much unless they have a good system

That’s all I can think of (being nit-picky), but overall I’m surprised it was rejected.

Watermark is too loud and your wobble bass is too thin. Try beefing it up with layered oscillators, chorus to widen it, and compression so it really hits. Also the boom towards the end is significantly louder than the rest of the track (as you can see in the waveform). Not sure what DAW you’re using, but your master output could use some compression/limiting/maximizing to get your final output “hot”. Always compare your work with a reference track. :)

Hi, AudioJungle! I’m VideoHive author, who is very interested in this track. This music was made specially for my future project. This means that my video is tied to this sound very hard. Without track my work simply fall apart. And you know… it’s bad!

I read comments above, and some of you have small advices “what to do better”, but nobody say that this track deserve to be “hard rejected”. Soft reject… may be… but not hard! Really, there are tracks much worse than this one.

And one more thing. It is all business. All AudioJungle know that promotion in VideoHive is very powerful thing. VideoHive author take your track and track starting selling very well. So, please, give me this audio and I publish my project. I win, TimofeyOstanin win and Envato win! So, let’s do busness, guys!
