Hello All,

One of my buyer asked me (and the question is very good) is this possible, is he able to edit/save an Adobe Photoshop vector smart layer with a non adobe vector based editor (for example Inkspace) or this operation only works with Adobe Illustrator? I tried to find an anser for this but i did not found the answer but neither a question about that. Thank you in advance!

Did you download Inkscape and give it a try?

You can always export/replace smart object contents. Depends what the contents are and if the other editor can read/save the file.

If you are specifically asking about the link between apps that allows updating open files, I am not sure.

If you save inkscape file as .eps you can place them in PS. Of course u must have proper file assocation to opening .eps files with inkscape. That will work. Of course you can’t place native inkscape .svg files beceause PS can’t import this… (CS3 – maybe CS4 /CS5 did it).

I’ve tried to do this the other way round, which is what I would need the plugin to do. No success. Anyone knows if it is at all possible to edit the stamp without Illustrator
