If you follow my previous thread, I just get myself a Nikon D5000 . Last weekend, I travel to another state to attend a wedding dinner and the ceremony. Since they didn’t hire a photographer, I become the ‘replacement’, without any experiences!

To be honest, I felt pressure while I accept the request. But what to do? They have no budget and I am the only option LOL

After I get some advices from Guilherme, I purchased the product from http://greyscalegorilla.com/ to learn about the workflow. So, ready to go for real practice :)

I tried to play with the aperture mode in the beginning, but I found that I still can’t control it very well, so, I just stick with the auto mode and play with the default scenes mode and preset modes. I try to practice on taking the right angle, what I should put into the frame, and what I should avoid.

I find it hard to capture a nice photo while in a ceremony or an event, everyone is moving! Any tips will be great :) I tried auto mode and sport mode, still cant get the best result I want.

OK, below are some of the photos I took. I am a total newbie in photography, please don’t laugh… and comment / feedback are welcome :)

hey kailoon. I am also considering to buy a new camera. Could you answer me 2 questions:

1. Are you happy with the Nikon D5000 ?

2.What lens did you buy? (or lenses) Which one did you used for the fotos above?

1) So far, I am happy with it.

2) I am using the default lens – 18 – 55 mm.
