Soft disabled for having a non-unique item name

Hey guys,

I just got my latest item soft disabled for having a non-unique name. Don’t expect a mail first because you won’t get, so this is a warning for authors who will post their items or ALREADY HAVE non-unique names to be careful.

I’m posting here because from what i’ve searched over the Envato Knowledge i didn’t find nothing about this.

Thanks for the warning Hogash It is quite interesting – your item was there for about a month and now somebody has found out that the name is not unique… really interesting (why they approved it with this name?? )

I had a similar issue – my latest item was accepted and was there for about 20 days. Then all of a sudden it was disabled because the preview image contained the apple logo. I understand that this is not allowed and I simply forgot about the apple logo that’s why I left it there, but why my item was approved at first place

So a HTML template that was in top 5 files for the latest 2 weeks was soft disabled after nearly one month just because it had a non-unique name? No offense, but don’t think this is unprofessional?

This is the way you treat your top authors? Not even a warning before? Why wasn’t this pointed before it being approved?

@joomfx no problem Sorry to hear that mate! The issue you had was not quite the reviewers task, they assure only about the item’s quality for approval here not copyright issues. I know for sure copyright problems are beyond their scope. Only on reports or DMCA’s they might intervene. I had no problem that i was accepted first and then soft disabled for this reason, it’s not their job to check that, however i haven’t seen anywhere this rule (of having a unique name). I would’ve appreciated an email first before taking actions.

@FinalDestiny Hopefully in the future this will be added as a mandatory rule, to have a unique name and authors might get a warning first, i think it’s much more friendly and professional.

Alright, I see Hogash I was thinking that it is reviewers task to check for copyright materials in the demo content and the preview images.

Anyway, yes I also haven’t seen a rule for a unique name. Even if there is such, there must be an email informing you that your item will be disabled. Otherwise, it is really unprofessional

Hehe, great idea!! I already found one this morning – KALLYAS, i was in a bit of a rush but anyway i think is very similar so i’m going with this one. Thanks again for the suggestion!!
