Was stumped by some clients, some of them actually refer to us as envato that means that they think behind all of this products sits a big corporation and not authors :) Did that happen to you?

Yep, it happened to me several times :)

There was one customer who opened a Discussion in this Forum asking for help with a Joomla Template he purchased from Themeforest. It was an easy question and eventhough it was a template from another author I decided to help him out so I replied to his Discussion. I also informed him that if he needs anything else he needs to contact the author of the Template.
On the next day I received an email sent from the Contact Form on my profile from this same customer asking how he can change this and that and so on. In the beginning I didn’t remember it was the customer from the previous day so I checked his profile and it was saying that this user has never purchased any of my items. Then I told him to send me a message from the Account he has purchased my template because it seems that with the currect account he has not purchased any of my items :)
You can imagine what happened :D He starting “yelling” and sending me email after email with proves and puchase code and so on. Then I saw that this is the customer from the previous day and his template is from another author.

This customer was thinking that once he purchase a template from Themeforest each and every author is supposed to support him :)

shhhhhhh…..

But really its not that surprising theres not really a “buying 101” when you join the marketplaces(or its hidden from plain view). If you really think about it theres nothing that explains what a author actually is so if you’re completely unfamiliar with marketplace like this you wouldn’t know.

I guess that a bad understanding of the English language is the first issue when it comes to stuff like this. If a person doesn’t have an idea how to speak or understand plain English then any 101 is useless for them.
